Sprinting for Spring is a painting created in early April just as the winter began to lose it's grip on the landscape. In this art painting I've tried to make the art painting as blank as possible, just enough interest so the mind can fill in the blank areas of the canvas . Art is really the subconscious playing in the real world, give it a brush and paint and it's amazing what it can create if you let it express itself in the painting.
I never try to over work my art and instead try to let it have a life of it's own, always looking for small details which have happened by chance and keeping them in rather than brushing over them. In this way I find the painting has far more to offer the viewer than it would if I had focused on every detail myself.
As you will see there is a small town on the left hand side of the painting which is Penicuik. This was originally not in the painting yet by some random chance it managed to force it's way in to the painting. To me that is what art is really all about, the spirit having room to play and create things which the mind would often neglect or brush over without a seconds thought.
I'll be trying to get my artists prints available as soon as possible. Until then i hope you enjoy my art and the original oil paintings on display. If you wish to buy work which is still available e-mail for details on payment and delivery.

“One gradually attains tranquility of mind by keeping the mind fully absorbed in the Self by means of a well-trained intellect, and thinking of nothing else.”
