Looking back to Penicuik is an oil painting of the Pentland Hills looking east towards the foothills, these hills form the second side of the deep glacier valley which rolled over this Scottish landscape thousands of years ago. The rain was stopping and starting all day, I hope you get the feeling of the weather as it rolls across the landscape in this painting.
In a lot of my artwork you will see me leave areas as blank as possible, I like to let the paint create accidental details which the viewer can then interpret in their own unique way. I enjoy creating these small 7" x 5" landscape oil paintings.
All of the paintings I produce are 100% original and available to buy online. I find selling my art online means I can keep costs down to a minimum and pass the savings on to my customers who always appreciate affordable art which is easy to buy online.
The small dot in the sky is not on the oil painting but was on the scanner.

”Everyone discusses my art and pretends to understand, as if it were necessary to understand, when it is simply necessary to love. ”
Claude Monet
”I am still a victim of chess. It has all the beauty of art - and much more. It cannot be commercialized. Chess is much purer than art in its social position. ”
