Fields at Night was taken up from Coats Farm near Silverburn and captures the early night as it comes to cover the landscape. In this art work I was trying to use as few colours as possible, I wanted to see how the limited palette of colours would effect the finished art work.
There are a lot of places in Scotland that offer breathtaking views and landscapes to produce art work from. This view had far more detail in it than I added but the aim wasn't to produce a detailed image, instead I was trying to say as much as possible with as few brush strokes as possible.
A lot of artists from Scotland have painted this landscape and I feel these artists produce amazing work. I tried to keep my painting simple not wanting to over do what was a very simple scene.
