Field to Penicuik is a Scottish landscape oil painting which uses a slightly different style of painting compaired to my other artwork, here i have used a cross over style to try and create the layered effect of the grass as it moves in the wind.
Just over the tree line and across is Penicuik and Sir John Clerke's estate. In the far distance the mountains lie in a think cloud haze which brings the bright green of the grass in to closer view. I played around with the composition for a while, not wanting to offer the painting to buy online until I felt the artwork was ready.
I enjoyed painting this scene and I will probably go back and do some more sketches so I can I post more artwork of this Scottish landscape soon. The painting has the freshness of the summer i wanted to create.
