Scottish Landscape Art Oil painting to buy online

Painting title: At Last it's Summer

Scottish Landscape Oil Painting art available to buy through this web site.

At Last it's Summer is a Scottish oil painting which captures the heat of the summer as it dry's the earth in Midlothian Scotland. We don't often get days like this so I painted a few canvases just so I didn't forget what it felt like to be warm.

The Scottish weather on this occasion was clear with the odd bit of cloud haze, I hope this oil painting gives you some idea of the heat. The painting looks along a flat landscape which is south of the capital Edinburgh. Due to the constantly changing weather the light and colour of this landscape is always changing, making it a constant source of art work for many Scottish landscape artists.

These small 7" x 5" canvases are ideal for wall art paintings and can also be free standing which is handy for placing them on a shelf or bookcase. The box canvas is not painted on the side unlike most printed canvases. I prefer to keep the sides of the canvas white, however in some cases brush marks and oil paint get on to the edges, these I don't paint over as they prove their originality.
